I love this! I have been using press and seal. But the press and seal sticks to your paper for the first few times, until the stickiness subsides. I am going to try using the thin napkin trick on my press and seal. And I want to try this hack also.

Great ideas! And a good way to use up some of the (way too much) embossing powder I own. 😂

All I do is ink my plates on a paper towel, lift them from underneath, then place them on my chase. Easy easy. No ink to clean up. Then you can use the same paper towel to clean the plate.

THANK YOU. I have not heard of this, and it solves a problem I have had. I have had to not do my paper crafting for several months, due to an eye injury, so I am behind on the newest ideas in this field. I like how well you presented this, and will subscribe to your channel to get more ideas.

I can understand why the floral napkin warped so badly. When you wet the napkin and smooth it, the tissue stretches slightly. When it goes on the card stock and dries, it shrinks.

You’re brilliant to trace your design on parchment paper because that solves the main problems using this foiling pen!!! Alcohol with glycerin is genius too! My niece and I had some crafting sessions with alcohol ink and yes it is addictive! My daughters aren’t much into crafting with me-they do craft though😂 thank you, Kathya, have a great day! That’s a Gorgeous card! Have you considered doing a tutorial on how to create these layered dies with a scan n cut? I bought myself one on a Black Friday sale and haven’t used it. Thank you, for sharing this video with us. I know it’s an older one but I hopped on to see if I had missed anything and saw several videos that I had indeed missed.

Has anyone tried this method on a Distress Oxide inkpad? It worked great on my Versafine pigment pads!

Good tips!

What a great idea to save money and reduce waste! Many ink pad brands do not have re-inkers available so when they are finished, you have to toss them. This technique will only work on water-based inks and not on something like Staz-on which is a solvent based ink. It will also work better on dye-based inks rather than pigment-based inks. Dye-based inks have the colour dissolved in the water -- like liquid food colouring. Pigment-based inks have the pigment particles floating in the water -- like mica powders. The dye-based ink will be pretty much evenly distributed through the pad so it will reactivate really well. Pigment-based pads will like not work as well but heck -- if it's dry anyway, give it a try! I'll be doing this with all my dry pads -- brilliant!

I just did my first test with this technique. I've been making a birthday card kit for my great nephew and have 8 balloon dies. Two of them are outline dies, the centre of the die is empty. These are a little trickier and I found that tissue wasn't strong enough to hold. I used a light weight paper from a notepad - lighter than copier paper. That worked really well. Sometimes the paper didn't fall out of the die. I used a piece Blue Tack to lift it out. One outline balloon wouldn't work with that and I used my Cricut weeding tool and poked it lightly on the tape side to pop out the paper. I cut 80 balloons from various papers in a matter of minutes. This saves so much time when you have dies that you want to cut from the same paper -- thanks again!

WOW -- what a great tip especially if you are doing a lot of cuts of the same dies. This one is new to me. I'll be adding this tip to my list! When I cut intricate dies with a heavier cardstock I put parchment paper as the top layer against the die itself which makes it easier to pop out. It also works great with really thin paper where you are cutting multiple layers in one pass.
